8 WWE Royal Rumble Winners Who Put Their Title Shot On The Line

1. Roman Reigns (2015)

As you could probably tell from reading this list, Royal Rumble winners putting their title shot on the line hasn't worked out too well in the past; so, why would Roman Reigns think it was a good idea to do just that? Granted, it wasn't entirely his fault; he was manipulated into putting his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match on the line at Fastlane against Daniel Bryan, but he could have resisted. And crucially, from a storyline standpoint, Bryan has done nothing to deserve the opportunity. While he still has his guaranteed title rematch lingering from last year, even The Authority admitted on a recent Raw that it was null and void when Bryan entered the 2015 Royal Rumble. Plus, The Authority despises Bryan more than they do Reigns, so for them to grant him the chance to potentially main event WrestleMania makes zero chance. Needless to say, this wasn't the plan from the get-go; Reigns' Rumble win didn't exactly go the way officials envisioned it would, causing them to switch up their plans for the immediate future on the road to WrestleMania. Although it's strongly believed Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the belt is set in stone for The Show of Shows, WWE has done a decent job as of late of casting doubt in the minds of fans. Will Reigns become the latest Rumble winner to relinquish his title shot, or will he be among the few to walk into WrestleMania with his title match still intact?
