Fans and industry insiders alike didn't take kindly to Lio Rush tweeting out a joke following Emma's WWE release in October 2017. His comments, which quipped that "these are the things that happen when you're not truly ready for Asuka", were tame but ill-timed, and Rush caught some heat for them.

Everyone from Sean Waltman and Bray Wyatt to Peyton Royce, Taz and Dash Wilder chimed in to remind lil' Lio he was a dumbass for being so insensitive about someone losing their job.

Rush apologised and later said in an ESPN interview that he'd learned from the mistake. Since then, he's been called up to the main roster on Raw to play the role of Bobby Lashley's 'hype man'. It's a gig that suits Lio well, and it's nice to see that WWE used his youthful stupidity as a chance to teach not punish.

Had Lio been more brazen, things might have been different. By taking some flak and licking his wounds, the ex-Cruiserweight star showed he was willing to learn.
