8 WWE Stars Who Need To Go Back To NXT

3. Kalisto

Kalisto is another talented worker who could be one of the stars of the Raw Cruiserweight division, but instead he's been thrown onto Smackdown Live with relatively little of note to do.

The former Samuray del Sol worked primarily in tag matches in NXT, first alongside El Local (aka. a masked Ricardo Rodriguez) and later Sin Cara.

Kalisto and Sin Cara, as the Lucha Dragons, became the team to end the 364 day reign of the Ascension and the duo's high flying tag team style gained them many fans.

They were soon both on the main roster and got off to a flying start, with Kalisto capturing the imaginations of the audience with his unique offence.

A single's run followed as he captured the United States championship and it wasn't long before the Rey Mysterio comparisons started. To be fair, Kalisto certainly has the kind of cool look and the connection with the younger members of the WWE Universe that made Rey such a major star.

And yet, WWE seem unable or unwilling to fully harness that into a significant run for Kalisto on the main roster. Since he dropped the U.S. title to Rusev, Kalisto has done little of note, besides losing to Baron Corbin on house shows.

Fortunately, things have started to turn around for Kalisto recently, as he's set to challenge Raw's Cruiserweight champ Brian Kendrick at Survivor Series, with the added stipulation that the entire division will move to Smackdown should he win.

In many ways, that would be the best thing for the division and for Kalisto. So when it inevitably doesn't happen and Kalisto is lost in the shuffle again, a return to NXT would do him the world of good.
