8 WWE Stars Who Will Never Be World Champion

Many fans are almost expecting Sami Zayn, having spent what seems like a lifetime as the punching bag for bigger names, to have his Daniel Bryan moment at WrestleMania some day. And although that would be a fitting way to recognise the Underdog from the Underground's diligent work in the mid-card, there's an equally strong chance that he won't be rewarded with a world title reign at all.

After all, for every Chris Benoit or Daniel Bryan there's a Curt Hennig or an Owen Hart - someone for whom the main event was just ever-so-slightly out of reach, no matter the standard of their matches or affinity with the audience.

Zayn could yet be given the opportunity to step up a gear, but - given the competition he faces from elsewhere on the roster - we won't hold our breath.
