8 WWE Superstars Lucky To Not Be Released
6. Fandango
Fandango was never going to reach great heights with such an outlandish gimmick, but he has managed to do alright for himself as a result of numerous pushes. With that said, he's just not all that good.
Although he has one of the funnest theme songs in the company, Fandango's in-ring abilities pale in comparison to others placed similarly on the WWE pecking order. Fun and games in the ring are great, but the performer has to be capable of kicking butt on top of providing some simple entertainment.
Take a look at new NXT standout No Way Jose, for example.
Having tried his hand as both a face and a heel, Fandango's limited success is as good as it's ever going to get. Even though he is featuring in the pointless Golden Truth angle (also starring fellow struggler Tyler Breeze), Fandango is destined for the scrap heap sooner or later.
Why WWE chose to hold onto him while releasing Damien Sandow is a mystery.
