8 WWE Superstars Lucky To Not Be Released
2. Ryback
Ryback's frustrated Tumblr post brings up a number of valid points, but it doesn't change the fact that you don't walk out on your company without facing consequences. If WWE eventually released CM Punk for doing the same thing, you can guarantee Ryback will be cut in time.
Once pushed as a legitimate main event star, Ryback found himself sliding down the card in sensational fashion. Although the last 18 months have been kind to The Big Guy, most notably featuring an Intercontinental Championship reign endorsed by Daniel Bryan, Ryback has failed to reach his initial heights.
Currently sitting on the WWE outer since walking out, it's a surprise that the company hasn't already sent Ryback on his way. Perhaps the only reason he remains on the books is that WWE isn't prepared to let go of the time and effort dedicated to advancing his career.
Although both parties will likely attempt to reach some middle ground at some stage, Ryback will be hard pressed to receive the lucrative contract he is clearly seeking. After speaking out against WWE, the company is well within its rights to play by its own terms.
