8 WWE Superstars Who Were Never Eliminated From The Royal Rumble

4. Randy Savage

For unexplained reasons, the two-time WWE World Heavyweight and one-time Intercontinental champion Randy Savage never quite grasped the concept of a Royal Rumble match, which made for some memorable moments. In 1989, he was “accidentally” eliminated by Hulk Hogan. Later in 1992, he removed himself by jumping out of the ring, although he was allowed to re-enter the match for whatever reason. And in 1993, ‘Macho Man’ went for a pinfall on Yokozuna.

But one of Savage’s most legendary Rumble moments doesn’t even involve him—sort of.

Many WWE Superstars failed to make it to the ring for the Royal Rumble match due to backstage (or on-ramp) antics, but Randy Savage’s story was much rarer. After attacking The Ultimate Warrior earlier on the 1991 PPV, the ‘Macho Man’ failed to appear as the 18th entrant, becoming the first man ever to no-show the match. Despite his truancy, he was still considered a competitor and his feet never touched the floor.
