6. Bayley
In many ways, Bayley is the Sami Zayn of the women’s division - the loveable, plucky underdog who has gone from being adored in NXT, to being misused on the main roster.
The former RAW Women’s Champion has a cult following of passionate fans, many of whom are young girls who would be devastated to see that their heroine has a dark side.
Bayley has been nothing but angelic since making her NXT debut five years ago. The shock factor of a heel turn is exactly why it could work, with a dramatic change of character. Imagine a Bayley completely stripped of everything fun about her current gimmick - no tassels, no hugs, no Bayley buddies, no catchy theme music - the anti-Bayley, if you will. Plain boots, plain tights and the most generic entrance music. Just thoroughly miserable.
Some of WWE’s current heels are difficult to dislike because they are entertaining. If Bayley is not completely reinvented, then she will have the same problem of turning the audience against her.
It is a difficult transition to make, but could be brilliant if Bayley can pull it off.
