8 WWE Survivor Series Statistics You Need To Know

5. Title Changes At Survivor Series

Although the unique feature and often the main draw of Survivor Series is the traditional elimination match, other various matches populate the card, including world championship matches. If a world title is on the line at Survivor Series, there€™s a decent chance that the champ could lose his strap. In 29 world title matches throughout the years, a title has changed hands 13 times. Some of the most notable or infamous title changes have happened at Survivor Series, including Bob Backlund€™s win over Bret Hart (with a little help from Owen Hart), Undertaker defeating Hulk Hogan a year after debuting, Shawn Michaels winning his first world title in four years in the first Elimination Chamber, and of course, Michaels beating Hart in the Montreal Screwjob. Beginning in 1994, the WWF World Championship changed hands six straight times at Survivor Series. Kurt Angle broke that streak, successfully defending his title against Undertaker.
