8 WWE The Horror Show At Extreme Rules Impulse Reactions

2. Drew McIntyre (c) Vs. Dolph Ziggler

For the entire duration of the Drew McIntyre/Dolph Ziggler build, WWE believed the most interesting thing about this match was whatever stipulation 'The Show Off' had cooked up to ensure he could defeat his former tag team partner for the top prize.

Anything he wanted. Anything. On a show with eyes being pulled out and men fighting in a swamp, you're going to look pretty stupid if you don't win a match when you can pick anything for your title shot. But this was The Horror Show, and we were up to our eye in it by now.

Ziggler selected a set of janky rules that favoured him, but not one that served as a guarantee to take the title home. Drew could lose the belt via count out or disqualification, whilst Extreme Rules were legal but only for the Challenger. All (seriously, why on earth did he give himself so much work here?) Ziggler needed to do was avoid getting the sh*t Claymore'd out of him and he'd be fine.

15 minutes and lots of hard work that was entirely undone by the idiotic stipulation, and he failed to do it. McIntyre sprang up and caught him with his biggest weapon, having absorbed lots of the challenger using big weapons. It was almost as if nobody had quite thought this one all the way through.

That said, at least it had a finish...
