Now, Brock Lesnar as World Champion managed to make sense and be entertaining, despite the fact that he only worked a minimal amount of dates and was rarely seen during his reign. The way he won the championship was particularly enthralling, in a destruction of John Cena the likes of which we had never seen and will surely never see again.

Lesnar held the title all the way through until WrestleMania 31, when Seth Rollins inserted himself into Lesnar's main event match against Roman Reigns and won the title. It made sense, in that the only way Lesnar was going to lose the title was in an opportunistic manner.

Unfortunately, a lot of the aura around Lesnar as champion died a month after he won the belt. After destroying Cena at SummerSlam 2014, the two had a rematch at Night of Champions that saw Cena win by DQ. Not only that, Cena practically had the match won. It derailed Lesnar's title run, all in the name of making Cena look a little stronger than he had previously.

If that had never happened and Lesnar continued to head down the road of rampaging violence, whoever eventually defeated him for the title would have looked seriously impressive. As it was, Lesnar's reign represents a wasted opportunity.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
