8 WWE Title Reigns That Were Completely Wasted

3. Every Time Wade Barrett Won The Intercontinental Championship

It became depressing in its predictability. In March 2011, Wade Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston to win his first championship in World Wrestling Entertainment, the Intercontinental Championship. At this point it still seemed as though Barrett was a can't-miss prospect, an individual with the look, the size and the ability to make a real splash in WWE.

Barrett's run was underwhelming to say the least, and ended pretty early at the hands of Ezekial Jackson of all people. Never fear however, as on New Years Eve 2012 Barrett won the title again, once more defeating Kofi Kingston. Now they'll get behind him!

Well, not exactly. Barrett had a non-feud with Bo Dallas during this reign, and lost the title on the WrestleMania pre-show to The Miz. He won it back the next night though. Wade would become Bad News would become King, and overall he won the Intercontinental Championship five times with each reign more depressing and predictable than the last.

Barrett wins IC title, Barrett loses all the time, Barrett defends on PPV, Barrett loses title. Rinse and repeat, with each more wasted than the last.
