8 WWE WrestleMania Main Events With Terrible Builds

3. Daniel Bryan Vs. Batista Vs. Randy Orton (WrestleMania XXX)

With Daniel Bryan finally being cleared to return to in-ring action, fans must be wondering what plans have changed now that he's once again in the picture. It's not the first time he forced WWE's creative hands. In the build for WrestleMania XXX, the original planned matches included Batista vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, and CM Punk vs. Triple H.

Unfortunately, Batista became Boo-tista, CM Punk walked out, and Daniel Bryan was so over, the crowds were actively hijacking shows to let the company know how furious they were over his treatment. Thus, in a rare case of WWE actively acquiescing to the vocal audiences, Bryan was inserted into the main event slot by way of wrestling Triple H on the opening match of the show for the right to face Batista and Orton later in the night.

That match with Triple H was more or less the real main event for fans, as by the time the triple threat came at the end, Bryan's coronation was a formality. Batista and Orton (the champion) were a complete afterthought. It was ultimately the right call for WWE, but in terms of main event build, it was rather sloppy and accidental.
