9 Best Supernatural WWE Gimmicks
5. The Ultimate Warrior
Hailing from Parts Unknown, there was definitely something otherworldly about The Ultimate Warrior. Despite looking and acting like a mere mortal - albeit one with terrific face-painting skills and an obvious taste for all of the cocaine - the Warrior constantly reassured fans that he wasn't from this planet.
The Warrior spoke of being "sent in a capsule from a place not from here" and receiving "injections from the gods above," which is as ambiguous as it is confounding. Therein lies the secret of the WWE's version of the Ultimate Warrior mythology: He's either a stark-raving lunatic, or he has some legitimately mystical plans for us after he "loads up the spaceship with the rocket fuel."
When the Warrior transferred to WCW, however, we saw the first glimpses of his superhuman abilities, none of which involved violently shaking the ring ropes. When he wasn't busy performing some light bondage with Hulk Hogan's flunky, The Disciple, he was disappearing and reappearing at the drop of a hat. Also, there was a moment that everyone involved would probably prefer you to forget, wherein the Warrior appeared to Hogan inside of a mirror.
Okay, so maybe his otherworldly elements were best left vague and unseen.
