9 Best WCW Luchadores
4. La Parka
The 'chairman' of WCW, La Parka was bigger than your average luchador but by no means was he less graceful. Indeed, despite being over six feet tall and tipping the scales just north of 220lbs, the skeleton-masked Parka was capable of taking to the skies with the best of them.
You need only see his split-legged moonsault, corkscrew crossbody or springboard moonsault to know that.
Another thing that made La Parka stand out was the comedic touches he added to his matches. While the rest of the luchadores were high-flyers, Parka would engage with the crowd more by adding comedy spots as well as playing a chair like a guitar as well as standing on top of it and dancing.
While he was hot for a while, Parka quickly cooled off once the inept Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara became bookers. The dastardly duo had Ferrara's voice dubbed over Parka's Spanish language interviews. It wasn't funny or entertaining and, perhaps seeing the writing on the wall, La Parka left WCW in 2000.
Well, it was good while it lasted. Post-WCW, Parka had very successful spells in AAA and CMLL. The 50-year-old is a top star in Mexico.
