Psicsosis debuted way back in 1989 after being trained by Rey Mysterio Sr. (Jr's uncle) and his brother, Fobia. He was a standout in AAA but really caught the attention of promoters worldwide after a stunning series of matches with Mysterio Jr. in ECW in November of 1995.

It wasn't long after that Psicosis (thanks to some help from Konnan) found himself wrestling under the bright lights of WCW. Psicosis's second WCW match was the opener of the 1996 Bash at the Beach pay-per-view against frequent opponent Mysterio Jr.

'Frequent' might be an understatent, since the two clashed hundreds of times throughtout their careers. The first couple of years of Psiscosis's WCW career consisted of the usual 'go out and have a good match' but he was a little more featured that many of the other luchadores and got to have midcard PPV matches with the likes of Dean Malenko, Ultimo Dragon and so on.

He joined the lWo in 1998, as was customary, before they were disbanded and Psicosis went back to competing for the Cruiserweight Championship. He won the belt a couple more times and was unmasked by Billy Kidman in late 1999. He was released by a financially struggling WCW in mid-2000.

Following his release he wrestled for ECW, WXW, TNA and AAA before being signed by WWE. Needless to say, his run of as a member of The Mexicools is not as fondly remembered as his superior WCW career.
