9 Big TNA Changes Billy Corgan Must Make
6. Emphasize The X-Division
Over in WWE, the Cruiserweight Classic is receiving rave reviews from fans, and the division will soon be making its way back to Raw. It’s unfortunate that the once great X-Division has sunk so low in importance to the TNA that they have to play catch up. Long gone are the days of Christopher Daniels, A.J. Styles and Samoa Joe stealing the show.
For the past few years, the X-Division has been a complete afterthought. You rarely see singles matches on Impact, as the company doesn’t seem to trust that anyone will find the personalities interesting, so we see random 3-way, 4-way and 6-way matches just tossed together without any storyline support or build. It’s unfortunate as there’s some great talent in the division.
Trevor Lee is dreadfully underutilized and needs to be given promo time to establish his character. But he needs to break away from Shane Helms, who is doing nothing for him or Andrew Everett. Zema Ion has a ton of potential, but also needs to be more of a focus on the show and not just disappear for weeks at a time and…whatever happened to Tigre Uno?
Basically, the talent is already there, but the effort is absolutely not.
