9 Biggest Opportunities WWE Missed At Wrestlemania 32
1. Restoring Any Faith In Creative
Individual chances slipping through Vinnie Mac's fingers aren't, if we're being totally honest, that big of a deal. Sure, Sasha Banks, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, The New Day and Shane would have got massive pops if they'd won their respective matches, but they've all, ultimately, got the ability and support to recover - some might take a few PPVs to get momentum back, others won't even notice the loss this time tomorrow.
But it's the sheer weight of it all that's problematic. You're never going to please everyone with any wrestling show, never mind WrestleMania, but WWE seem to have somehow put together a card that's pleased absolutely nobody.
Let's recap.
The second most prestigious belt is now around the waist of Zack Ryder, a man nobody cares about and with no obvious direction to go in. AJ Styles, arguably the most exciting new addition to the company this year, has been made to look discernibly weak and has nowhere to go. The Tag Team champions have rolled over to one of the most roundly-beaten teams of 2016, and still kept their belts. Ambrose, probably the fans choice to be next in line for the title, has something like 1 PPV win in the last 7 months. The new Women's Champion isn't someone who's exciting or distinctive enough to be the face of a rebrand. After promising so much the Hell In A Cell resulted in a continuation of the status quo. The one perfect heel on the roster is now doing little more than leading a bearded J.O.B squad. The "top face of the comapny" was crowned WWE champion to the sound of 100,000 people booing.
Where WWE go from here - or, in the minds of some fans, *how* they even go on from here - is anybody's guess. They always aim to make WrestleMania something fans will never forget, but this time that might just be because it's the last one they ever watched.
