9 Bold Predictions For Post-WrestleMania RAW & SmackDown
6. The Revival Or #DIY (Or Both) Debut
One area that both main roster shows are weak in is the tag team division. There’s just not enough top tier talent to flesh out the lineup of each show. SmackDown has two quality teams and some comedy acts, while Raw has four solid duos but a lack of lower tier squads. Ideally, when the brand split occurred they would have shipped the entire division to one show - similar to what happened to the cruiserweights - but they chose not to go that route.
The shows following WrestleMania could see the promotion of one, possibly two of the absolute best teams in the entire WWE system. Both The Revival and #DIY are due to make a splash on the main roster, and with The Authors of Pain and a host of other new teams populating NXT, there’s little else for the highly accomplished pairs to “learn” in the developmental system.
Depending on how the tag team championship match at TakeOver: Orlando goes, we could see one or both of these units called up. My preference would be to send The Revival to SmackDown, where they can recreate some magic with American Alpha. #DIY meanwhile can go tear it up with Anderson and Gallows on Raw.
If I had to choose just one team for a call-up it would definitely be The Revival, but it’s a very real possibility that both make their presence felt.
