9 Directions WWE Champion Sheamus Can Go From Here

7. A New Authority Stable, Featuring The New Day And Barrett

It remains to be seen whether Sheamus will go full corporate champion, but the smart money would say yes. His new allegiance with Triple H was put over very clearly at the end of Survivor Series, as the pair celebrated together at the top of the ramp, and even posted a cosy Instagram picture after the PPV went off air. They're only a few steps away from full-blown 'BFF' territory. This would be an awesome opportunity for WWE to build a few deserving heels on the back of Sheamus' win. As the new golden boy of the Authority, the Irishman will need his own equivalent of Rollins' J&J Security. Step forward: the New Day. Xavier, Kofi and Big E. already showed a loose allegiance to Seth Rollins during his time with the Authority, and formally inducting the trio into the fold would give their comedic heel shtick a new, more detestable edge. Similarly, Wade Barrett has consistently proven himself one of the most entertaining midcard heels in the business, regardless of the uninspiring gimmicks he constantly finds himself saddled with. A new status as Sheamus' Head of Security would be perfect for such an underrated, charismatic performer. However, the major drawback with this plan is its lack of originality. We've seen the 'Corporate Champion' angle a hell of a lot over the past few years; fans may switch off at the sight of WWE going back to the well yet again. If they were to go for a slightly more left field idea, however...
