Speaking of Aron Rex, 2017 is going to be the biggest year of the former Damien Sandow's career. When he was released by World Wrestling Entertainment back in May the wrestling world was in uproar; why oh why would WWE release such a popular star with so many upsides? Well, Rex/Sandow's performances since leaving the company give something of an insight as to why he never reached the heights many hoped for.

Rex has seemed out-of-shape and uninspired. This is to be expected once out of the grind of WWE life, but compare Rex to others released in similar circumstances; Drew Galloway has gone from strength to strength, and even men like Sami Callihan and CJ Parker stayed in shape and seemed inspired to show what they are capable of.

TNA has tried to portray Rex as an edgy serious character, but the truth is that he gained the popularity he did via goofiness and quirks. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Rex on the pro wrestling sidelines by October 2017.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
