9 Exact Moments TNA Booking Stopped Making Sense

4. Dixie Carter Shoots On The Entire Roster

Bobby Roode James Storm Bound For Glory 2012

You are Dixie Carter.

You have made the flawed but ambitious decision to bring in Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff with the mindset that two of the men responsible for taking WCW from the outhouse to the penthouse in the mid-90s might be able to do it again in 2010. It's all over the line, and you instruct talent to act on camera as if this is the most exciting thing to happen in the history of the promotion, but online you see pushback that matches whispers in your locker room that have gotten back to you. The nWo was once framed as a "lethal dose of poison" in WWE but that was more a failed attempted to make the ordinary feel controversial again. This has taken fiction and blended it with fact. Something needs to be done in the real world.

Do you address these concerns formally and behind the scenes, perhaps offering your rationale in the face of constructive criticism? Alleviate talent fears with the best possible aspirations of how good it could all be if the plan works out? Stand firm privately while continuing the milk-and-honey messages on screen?

Or, do you inadvertently soft-launch your eventual heel boss persona by passive aggressively bollocking your loyal roster in a total contravention of kayfabe, make threats of job losses, insist that people fall in line...and then air that on television mere weeks before the controversial new signings arrive?
