9 Huge Problems With Big Show Vs Shaquille O'Neal At WWE WrestleMania 33

8. No Justifiable Rivalry

Even in the modern wrestling world where fans pride themselves on knowing the real relationships between performers, there has to be some kind of on-screen rivalry that fuels a story. As far as we're led to believe, Big Show and Shaquille O'Neal want to have a match at WrestleMania 33 just 'cause.

Since their first altercation back on Raw in 2009, when Show was the recipient of a Shaq-sized clothesline, the pair have been public with their admiration for each other. Between teaming up in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal - albeit before being eliminated - and being chummy on the ESPYs red carpet, what exactly is the motivation for a fight?

It's hard to even begin fathoming Big Show vs Shaq as a genuine WrestleMania match with a detailed backstory but that would at least be tolerable. If the duo are to meet at WrestleMania just for the sake of it then why the hell are we even considering this? Even the Akebono and Floyd Mayweather matches had reasoning behind them.

In typical WWE fashion, some kind of ridiculous story will likely be contrived if the contest is given the green light, but the build-up is already off to a poor start and doesn't exactly fill the skeptics with surety.

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
