9 Insane Real-Life Randy Savage Stories

8. Pistol-Whipping Bill Dundee

This story has reached now-legendary status and has been told from many different viewpoints. Essentially, Jerry Lalwer ruled Memphis. He was the co-owner of the USWA, along with Jerry Jarrett, and constantly sold out arenas all over the city. It was their territory and nobody would dare to challenge them. Well, nobody except the Poffos, Randy and his father Angelo. They would cut promos on the Lalwer and the other Memphis talent and threaten to invade the company. The situation escalated to where the Memphis crew would apparently travel with loaded firearms, just in case they were caught off-guard by the Poffos. At one show, Randy and the entire ICW roster showed up at a show and legitimately threatened to take out Lawler, but a separate riot started and when police showed up they wisely didn't make a move. Still, a confrontation was inevitable, and it finally happened when Randy got into it with Memphis' second top babyface, Bill Dundee. Supposedly, Dundee and Savage began arguing and Dundee went to grab his gun. Savage spotted it, wrestled the gun out of his hands and violently pistol-whipped him, breaking his jaw and putting him out of action for six weeks. Dundee's version of the story differs, with him saying that Randy split when he saw the Smith and Wesson revolver. Whatever actually happened is up to who you believe, but Randy did brag about the apparent beat-down on television for weeks afterwards.
