For months, when it came to Randy Orton all that was said was, €œHe needs to be a heel€ or €œHe€™s stale.€ Well, they gave us heel Randy Orton, and people didn€™t like it very much. From Summerslam to Wrestlemania, Orton became a 12 Time Champion, and unified the World Championship with the WWE Championship to become the first WWE World Heavyweight Champion. However, what fans saw wasn€™t €œThe Face of WWE€, but a man standing in the way of The Yes Movement who was Triple H€™s pawn in an attempt to bury Daniel Bryan. Nevertheless, Orton€™s resume during his reign didn€™t always reflect his accomplishments. He slogged through horrid booking in his 3-month feud with Daniel Bryan, bored fans to tears in his Survivor Series dud against The Big Show, and defended the title against John Cena in a feud fans just didn€™t want to see anymore. Speaking of defenses, aside from his TLC match with Cena, the only way he retained the title came from odd finishes via The Authority or Wyatt Family. The results of those contests, combined with the long reaching Yes Movement storyline, turned Randy Orton into a victim of circumstance. Had Orton been properly showcased as a champion, it€™s hard to say the fans would have hated that reign as much as they did. Orton was presented as the face of WWE, which couldn€™t be further from the truth. He was hardly the best heel, as that honor went to Triple H, and later Batista. The Yes Movement had been delayed for months, and when Wrestlemania XXX arrived, fans celebrated not only Daniel Bryan€™s victory, but also the end of a frustrating Orton run.
