Many fans recall the exhilarating way WrestleMania 35 opened with its first match on the card. Seth Rollins challenged ‘The Conqueror’ Brock Lesnar after surviving and winning the Royal Rumble (2019) and looked to conquer him for the Universal Championship, which is exactly what he did in 2:30 when he Curb Stomped him three times to the mat to pick up the win and triumphantly swing the Universal strap on the stage in front of 82,000 fans at MetLife Stadium.

But Rollins has revealed something nearly went tragically wrong for that match during his entrance, commenting “I was so amped up, so fired up for that match, and for Brock Lesnar, that I legitimately almost passed out on my entrance. No joke. I don’t know if you can catch it, but there’s like a moment where I’m drifting kind of back to the centre of the ramp, and I’m glossed over. Because you know when you get so fired up, it’s that feeling like you’ve been laying down or sitting down for too long, and you stand up and you get lightheaded, that’s what I had. And it was to the point where you start going ‘woah, woah, woah,’ and I recovered just in time to walk down the ramp and and beat Brock Lesnar. But that was the moment right there where I didn’t know if it was gonna happen. Thought they were going to have to cart me off the stage. Wouldn’t that have been a great opening to WrestleMania?”

Rollins didn’t pass out to the relief of many and had an incredible night, winning the Universal title and watching his girlfriend (and now fiancée and mother of his child) Becky Lynch be involved in the first women’s match to headline WrestleMania, witnessing her win and become Becky Two Belts.
