WrestleMania 36 was originally scheduled to take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida in front of 80,000 screaming fans. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 caused WWE to do the unthinkable and host WrestleMania at the Performance Centre in Orlando that year with no fans and only essential medical personnel present. Hopes weren’t high going into ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment’ that year, with many critics/fans wondering how WWE would pull off the pageantry of WrestleMania at the PC and especially with many of its talent like Roman Reigns having to pull out of the event due to the pandemic.

WWE went to work on altering matches and swapping out performers. They shrewdly took advantage of the situation and filmed two cinematic matches for the two day event, with them ending up being the standout highlights of the PPV. The Boneyard match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles exceeded everyone’s expectations and The Fiend trapping John Cena in the Firefly Fun House match was unlike anything WWE had ever put on before, with it being littered with Easter eggs and backstory.
