The Undertaker isn’t the only major blast from the past rumoured to be returning to the ring tonight. Batista is another that has been heavily rumoured for the show, and The Deadman’s WrestleMania 23 opponent hasn’t been shy about expressing his own interest in making that happen. Even as recently as this morning, The Animal has been teasing an appearance on social media.

Several news outlets have been quick to jump on the Batista bandwagon, and the former World Heavyweight Champion’s name has been ubiquitous on ‘potential shock’ lists for weeks. Batista’s last return to the company ended up being something of a bust, but enough time has passed for both parties to try again. He also happens to be a major film star now, giving WWE even more reason to stump up the cash for a big return.

Pittsburgh isn’t quite Philadelphia, but it was in Pennsylvania that Batista made his controversial return in 2014. The Animal went on to win that Royal Rumble match, although his celebrations were drowned out somewhat by the vitriol of the WWE Universe, who were apoplectic with rage at the lack of Daniel Bryan. Will the Guardians of the Galaxy star return to right that wrong tonight?
