9 Last-Minute WWE Royal Rumble 2018 Rumours You Need To Know

5. The Return Of The Deadman (Again…)

The Undertaker is another big name in town for the Royal Rumble, but has The Phenom brought his boots with him? Dave Meltzer speculated recently that ‘Taker could be a surprise entry into the 2018 Royal Rumble, although Big Dave did remark that it would be odd for WWE not to advertise the Deadman’s involvement.

The Royal Rumble largely sells itself, so advertising ‘Taker in the hope of boosting ticket sales isn’t exactly of paramount importance. Undertaker appeared at RAW25 in decent shape, which only served to spark further conjecture that another WrestleMania match is on his horizon. The Phenom’s likely opponent? None other than John Cena.

The long-awaited dream match could well be teased in this evening’s 30-man extravaganza. There is a certain novelty to the idea, but does anyone really want to see The Undertaker wrestle again? The impact of his retirement will be lessened if it continues to be teased year after year. No wrestling fan wants to be in a position where an Undertaker appearance leads to rolled eyes, so here’s hoping there is little meat to the bones of this rumour.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
