9 Laws Of Physics That Only Exist In Wrestling

2. Hardcore Dimensional Theory

Despite the many other great differences between the two, the effect of heavy steel weapons on the human body remains remarkably similar in real life and in the wrestling world. That is, if you get hit with a weapon, it hurts you a lot, you fall down and you don't get up for a long time. Except during a hardcore match. During these matches, you can bash a guy in the face with trash can lids, various barbed wire implements, and fire, and he can kick out at two like you threw a bad hip toss. And this despite the fact that a half-hearted blow to the shoulder blade with a folding chair is enough to end a regular match.

Recently, WWE altered its preferred terminology to Extreme Rules, which is actually accurate; these matches must take place in a THIRD alternate universe where the "rules" -- physical laws -- are different enough that the tissues of the human body are denser and more resistant to physical injury. It's anyone's guess how the wrestlers we know and love find themselves temporarily transported to this alternate universe, but my first hypothesis would be a wormhole somewhere beneath the ring. After all, there's definitely one down there that allows you to pull tables and ladders out of a home improvement pocket dimension.
