9 Most Anticlimactic Unmaskings In Wrestling History

6. Los Conquistadores

All right, it should be stated first and foremost that the whole resurgence of "Los Conquistadores" in 2000 completely reeked of awesomeness. It was played for laughs much of the time, and it added yet another layer of magnificence to the increasingly entertaining pair of Edge and Christian. It was seriously one of the greatest things that happened in the WWE that year.

The angle came about in a similar fashion to the Mr. America thing, with Edge and Christian barred from competing for the tag team championships while the Hardy Boyz held the titles. Their way around this blockade was to put on the bright gold suits, wrestling as Uno and Dos, and win the championships that way. Then, after paying a couple of jobbers to wear the suits the next night, Edge and Christian would come pummel them and win the titles "fair and square."

All of this was happening behind the scenes, mind you. It wasn't until Los Conquistadores conspicuously started using the Hardy Boyz move sets during their match with Edge and Christian that the audience was let in on any of this.

Unfortunately, the unmasking was drawn out way too long, with Commissioner Foley coming down the entrance ramp to explain everything like it was a full-on murder mystery. Also, the Hardys performed a few too many of their signature moves during the match, letting everyone in on the secret earlier than they should have.
