While The Nexus could have been a newer and cooler version of the nWo, WWE dropped the ball on the group as a whole. When the company realized they needed to split the faction off and try to make more out of its parts, it became clear WWE wasn't sure what to do with some of the members. David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty were thrown together only because they were two Nexus members WWE wasn't ready to kick to the curb. They eventually became part of CM Punk's New Nexus.

Otunga had a great look but never amounted to much in the ring. McGillicutty had the lineage of being a Hennig but a terrible in-ring name. Together they were quite forgettable.

In 2011, and for about three months, the team actually held the WWE Tag Team Championships. That said, this is one of the few times being title-holders didn't help their legacy. In the end, they'll go down as one of the more uninspiring championship duos in WWE history. If you can name a fan that knows the team defeated Kane and the Big Show to win those titles and then lost them to Air Boom, you have a WWE savant on your hands.
