9 Most Unremarkable WWE Tag Teams Of The Past Decade
2. Aiden English And Rusev (2017)
Sometimes teams don't deserve the "unremarkable" label placed upon them. But, if one looks at their win/loss record, their ability to stay relevant or the fact they are constantly on the verge of a breakup, Aiden English and Rusev have to be considered one of the least successful albeit entertaining teams in the past two years.
These two were thrown together when Rusev was no longer considered a dangerous heel and English was barely treading water in a singles role. Little was likely expected of their partnership but when a throw-away segment named "Rusev Day" took off, the company stumbled upon a potential goldmine. Both members of the team, especially Rusev, became insanely popular. What did WWE do? Practically nothing. Despite the fact that Rusev and English got themselves over — arguably more so than they'd ever been in their entire WWE careers — WWE all but ignored them.
Rusev has seen a bit more progress in 2018, but the English and Rusev tandem never received the tag titles even though the WWE Universe was begging for it. Furthermore, any match they won was classified as a shocking moment and WWE is now back to teasing their breakup on a regular basis.
More often than should be the case, WWE just blows it with a tag team. This was one of those times.
