9 Next Steps For Triple H

1. Triple H Vs. The Rock

This may seem like something of a detour, but given all of the talk of WrestleMania matches, it’s certainly a point worth mentioning.

While Triple H vs. Rollins or Triple H vs. Owens would certainly be worthy of the biggest show of the year, they’re perhaps not necessarily the ideal means by which the Game could be utilised on the card. Maybe I’m just too hung up on the early 2000s, or that backstage promo that we saw on SmackDown between these two a couple of years back. Either way, I can’t help but feel that Triple H vs. the Rock is a rivalry that’s deserving of at least one singles meeting at WrestleMania before either man’s career comes to a halt.

Naturally this one’s hugely dependent on the availability of the Rock, but if he is able to make WrestleMania 33—a show taking place in his home state of Florida—then there’s a readymade story just waiting to be acted on in Triple H vs. the Rock.

And if that match does eventually come to fruition, after that there won’t be too much left for Triple H to achieve, and it may be that he starts thinking about the old R-word once again.

No, not Retirement. The “r-word” is of course Return—as in, return to action, start a new faction, tear it to pieces and get a grudge match out of it. Rinse and repeat as necessary.
