9 Next WWE Steps For Dean Ambrose

5. Triple Threat Match At No Mercy

Speaking of the benefits of a three-way feud, it’s easy to forget in all of the excitement that we do indeed have a Triple Threat match coming up at the No Mercy PPV next month.

AJ Styles will defend his newly-won WWE World Championship against both Dean Ambrose and John Cena on Oct. 9, in a match that promises to be every bit as good as it sounds.

In terms of an actual winner though, this one’s pretty difficult to call. The safe money would be on AJ retaining, given that his reign only began on Sep. 11 and short reigns aren’t necessarily a great way to build up a credible bad guy. That being said, if AJ does defeat Ambrose next week, knowing WWE and its 50/50 booking policy, are they really going to want to have Ambrose fail for the second time in a row?

So if it’s not AJ who’s losing, and it’s not Ambrose, then that obviously leaves Cena as the fall guy but, as a 15-time World Champion, Cena is just about the most unlikely candidate in the company to fulfil the role of fall guy.

With all that being said, I’ll go out on a limb and predict that AJ retains; although I’ll probably be proved wildly wrong.
