Back to in-ring matters and while it's anything but a fresh feud, you get the feeling that this Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz program is in need of a satisfactory pay-off. Or at least, a match that isn’t decided by a can or hairspray/fake tan/whatever it is they’re using.

The logical solution is to have one final blow-off match with some kind of stipulation that prevents Maryse or any foreign objects from affecting the outcome of the match. Initially I’d been thinking along the lines of a Cage match, partly because it’s something different and partly because a Cage match for a mid-card title may help to elevate the championship somewhat.

That being said, the obvious plot-hole in this one is that a can of hairspray or fake tan still be fed through a mesh cage, so the match’s reasoning kind of falls apart.

Still, I do feel that this rivalry needs a conclusion (and soon), with some kind of stipulation to ensure it’s a level playing field. I also think The Miz needs to emerge from it victorious, and I know that’ll be yet another nail in the coffin of Ziggler, but with the amount of failures he’s had in recent weeks, does it really matter at this point?
