Speaking of specific opponents, it's somewhat difficult to single out a viable challenger given the composition of the SmackDown roster.

With the Dolph Ziggler program well and truly exhausted, there aren’t many other babyface options in the mid-card. That means that someone could be forced to make a step down from the main event scene, and in my eyes that someone should be John Cena.

First and foremost, Miz vs. Cena in the current age would make for a thoroughly interesting story. On the one hand, you’d have Cena going after the one major accolade that has so far alluded him in his monumental WWE career, while The Miz will be trying to prove himself against one of the absolute biggest names of all time. It’s a story that pretty much writes itself.

Plus, there’s all that history from their WrestleMania XXVII main event to factor into the equation, making this a post-TLC feud that I for one would very much be in favour of.

If I had to suggest a date for the dance then next year's Royal Rumble would seem like a decent bet.
