9 Potential Replacements For JBL On WWE Commentary

2. The Miz

Let’s face it: the Miz is an excellent speaker, and when doing non-wrestling related segments, he shines much more. As the obnoxious and self-absorbed ‘Hollywood star’, Miz can be a great heel similar to JBL, but what would make Miz a better choice for commentary is the simple fact that Miz doesn’t have the naturally-loud voice that JBL does. When you hear an argument between JBL and, say, Cole, JBL speaks so loudly that he virtually drowns out whomever he’s speaking with. Miz, on the other hand, understands volume control, and so his arguments don’t sound so one-sided.

At the same time, Miz has also shined as the new judge on Tough Enough. He brings a much more personal perspective to the show, and his presence actually adds to the show in a major way. He speaks with authority and from experience, which makes everything he says that much more important.

Should Miz ever need a different role from the one he has now, he would excel on commentary. It doesn’t matter if he sticks with his current heel character or if he becomes a serious person who speaks with a more professional tone; Miz has the voice and the demeanor needed to be a great commentator…as long as he doesn’t start spewing random banter and tries to drown everyone else out.
