9 Reasons Chris Jericho Is The Greatest All-Round Performer In Wrestling History

4. Relevancy Through Multiple Eras

If you look at every top guy in the history of the business, almost all of them got hot and had about a five-year run at the pinnacle of the industry before either burning out and fading away or moving on to bigger opportunities. Had Hollywood not called his name, The Rock could have potentially been WWE’s top drawing star for another decade or longer. The same with Austin and his injuries taking their toll. But history didn't turn out that way.

Chris Jericho is one of the select few to be a relevant big name star through multiple eras. He was a pivotal player in The Monday Night War for WCW, lighting up their undercards with great matches. Once he moved on to WWE he helped define the latter stages of The Attitude Era.

Jericho was at the forefront of Ruthless Aggression, made sporadic appearances as a headliner during the PG Era and is now back on top once again in what WWE has dubbed The Reality Era.

How many other wrestlers can say that? And during each one of those very specific and different time periods of wrestling he has managed to stay relevant, never once falling below upper midcard status. That’s a hell of a feat considering the iconic names he’s shared those eras with.
