Especially at WrestleMania, the show most likely to attract new viewers, Roman Reigns defeating The Undertaker sent the right message - the WWE superstars of today are worth watching!

Putting new stars over old stars is how WWE was built. In recent years, the biggest mistake WWE constantly repeats is putting stars from a bygone era over current, full-time talent, the lifeblood of WWE's daily operations. In the past five years or so, The Undertaker has gone over Bray Wyatt, Triple H went over Dean Ambrose, Triple H and The Undertaker both defeated CM Punk, and there's plenty more examples. Superstars from the Attitude Era are still treated as the best of the best despite the majority of them being well past their prime. Why would any new viewer care about the current RAW or SmackDown talents if they're ultimately depicted as less-than and a group of losers?

With Reigns going over The Undertaker in decisive fashion, this tells the viewers of today's product that the new guy (Roman) is the star. Sure, we'd like to see it happen more often and with more talents besides Roman Reigns, but it's still a step in the right direction.
