9 Reasons Steve Austin Was Better In WWE Than Hulk Hogan

2. He Was Better On The Mic

What'cha gonna do, brother, when Hulkamania's boilerplate promo runs wild on you?

For all of the Hogan's charisma, you have to admit that his mic work became a little stale once Hulkamania really started rolling. Granted, at that point in time, fans were fine with having the same old things shouted at them every week, so long as it was growled with some intensity.

And, to be fair, no one delivered a promo with as much energy as Hulk Hogan. (except maybe The Ultimate Warrior). But compared to the likes of Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Jake Roberts and Dusty Rhodes, his mic work felt pretty one-note.

Meanwhile, Stone Cold's ability to cut an effective, entertaining promo in the Attitude Era was rivalled only by his greatest nemesis, The Rock.

It didn't matter who the Texas Rattlesnake was berating - from aforementioned icons like Jake Roberts to the head of the company to the fans themselves - it was always enjoyable hearing Stone Cold verbally rip them to shreds, knowing all the while that he would back it up as soon as he got into the ring.

It doesn't hurt that he unleashed what seems like a million catchphrases that fans couldn't wait to scream at their classmates or coworkers the next day.
