9 Things GFW Must Do Better Than Impact
7. Hire More Knockouts
If only TNA hadn’t screwed things up so massively years ago.
The company should still be the place to go to for great women’s wrestling, but they let many of their most talented performers leave the promotion. Instead, they spent their money on guys like Hulk Hogan, Rob Van Dam, and Orlando Jordan. How well did that work out?
Now, WWE has many of the most talented women wrestlers in the world. That doesn’t mean GFW should give up on the idea of competing with them. In fact, due to both Raw and SmackDown only having half-a-dozen women on each show, it means that overexposure is the name of the game. Fans have seen virtually every possible matchup either brand can deliver countless times. GFW has an advantage as they can bring in new names to develop exciting, first-time ever matches.
One of the most disappointing aspects of Impact’s 2017 is that after Dutch Mantell’s return to the company, we didn’t see a lot of great new women wrestlers signing on. He was responsible for bringing in talent like Hamada, Alisha Flash, Sarita, and Awesome Kong in the past but nobody like that has come along yet. What gives?
It's beyond time for the promotion to turn things around in this aspect. Rosemary, Allie, and Sienna are solid acts for the company, now they just need about a dozen more women at their level to really make waves again.
