Is WWE intentionally blowing the Royal Rumble from year to year? In 2012, Chris Jericho returned and set his sights on a victory in the 30-man match, only for WWE to swerve a Sheamus win at the last second. In hindsight it wasnt the worst decision, but things quickly got out of control. Following that in 2013, WWE decided to book one of the most predictable Rumble matches ever, strap the title to a part time wrestler in The Rock, and end the most historic WWE title reign in the modern era all in the same night. CM Punk never reached that level again, and left the company. Furthermore, in 2014 square in the middle of the yes movement, WWE brought back another star of yesteryear in Batista. In one of the most infamous nights ever, fans hi-jacked Royal Rumble and aimed venom square in the direction of the companies chosen man. Not only was Bryan not good enough to win, WWE didnt even let him compete. It was a slap in the face fans were sure WWE would never do again. Conversely, not only is this worse than last year this extends the Bad Royal Rumble streak thats been developing over the years. The man with the most amazing reactions and connection with wrestling fans got beat fair and square in under 5 minutes. It makes you long for the days when they pulled him from the match altogether. However, WWE always has a plan to spin a negative to a positive. After the 2015 Royal Rumble, they may need Cesaro to help them spin out of this situation. But for the second consecutive year, WWE left fans enraged from the result of The Royal Rumble.
