You could completely understand if a man who for all intents once had the world at his feet only for the rug to be pulled from beneath them was brimming with bitter regrets. That's absolutely not the case with Magee, who comes across in the documentary completely at peace with the way his life transpired (and we're delighted to report, looking very well, considering the last news most of of us had of him involved a drastic assault). There's absolutely no sense that he harbours any nagging resentment at his faded opportunity.

It probably helps that Magee was never afforded the opportunity to buy into his own hype. Unaware he was being groomed as the company's next golden boy, the novice was able to remain grounded. Philosophically, he notes that whatever experience he had in life, it was his own - and he is happy either way.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
