The ageless Hunt has become a real MMA cult hero over the years, and it’s easy to see why. Fans love skull-thumping knockouts, and Hunt delivers them in droves. He might not look like an elite level athlete, but he sure performs like one, and his fights are rarely anything less than exciting.

His appeal extends far beyond that, though. Hunt is a reserved, humble fighter who eschews the spotlight in favour of focusing on his craft. He never comes-off as anything less than thankful and sincere, and his post-fight interviews have become a thing of legend, and he paused a recent live AXS TV interview to answer a phone call from his wife.

“Hey man, you gotta answer the when the boss calls, homie!” he explained after. Mark Hunt just doesn’t care, and it’s wonderful.
