9 Things WWE Got Right At Battleground 2016

4. John Cena Vs. AJ Styles Continues

SummerSlam is shaping up to be a pretty great show, and one integral part of ensuring that was going ahead with another John Cena and AJ Styles singles match.

It may not have been in doubt, but bringing Enzo & Big Cass and Gallows & Anderson into the mix allowed WWE to stretch the Cena/Styles rivalry out to SummerSlam without spamming us with one-on-one matches.

Cena picking up the pin on Styles via Avalanche Attitude Adjustment is also the right move, in my opinion. Gallows & Anderson still need to protected to a degree, and having either of them take the fall here would have furthered the idea that they are Styles' fallboys and not much else.

It also gives us a precedent for Styles to kick out of the AAA at SummerSlam. Cena/Styles II at the Biggest Party of the Summer is absolutely the right move, and this six-man was a great way to continue along that path.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
