9. Awful Booking Done Right

If booking a two-on-one handicap match where the babyfaces have the numbers advantage seems like a terrible move to you, you aren't wrong. Such matches exist only to tell the story of the valiant underdog fighting from underneath, so booking two lukewarm faces to go up against a freshly-heel veteran confused many critics ahead of Elimination Chamber 2017.

With that in mind, the outcome of Apollo Crews & Kalisto teaming up to defeat Dolph Ziggler must be given a slightly confused thumbs up. Ziggler wisely attacked Kalisto from the get-go, but the Lucha Dragon managed to return to the match in time to help his partner pick up the victory. Two good men should always beat one after all.

Ziggler gave Crews' ankle the Brian Pillman treatment following the match, establishing his new villainous persona. You can't help but feel that all three men are destined to vie for a particular memorial trophy at WrestleMana 33, but this match managed to avoid being the seemingly inevitable train-wreck.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
