7. A Fight, Not A Match

Nikki Bella and Natalya fought to a double count-out in the meat of the show, with the two putting together a match that was picking up steam before the non-finish. This was a physical battle full of excellent near-falls, pitch-perfect storytelling and passion from the two former Divas Champions, taking what was a somewhat mediocre feud and turning it up a notch through nothing more than old school brawling.

Many will complain about the finish but continuing this story for a short while yet is clearly going to lead into the John Cena & Nikki vs. The Miz & Maryse match that is rumoured for WrestleMania 33. A lot of the Natalya/Nikki story has centred around Natalya trash-talking Nikki's relationship with Cena, and as the fight between the two women spilled backstage it was Maryse that found herself in the cross-hairs.

The seeds are being sewn and as such the continuation of Natalya and Nikki makes sense. The supposed personal elements of the rivalry almost tie in with the double count-out finish, the red mist descending over both and muffling out the foreboding count of referee Jason Ayers. This was a fight as opposed to a pro wrestling match.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
