9 Things WWE Got Right At Extreme Rules 2017
6. Playing Up Bayley's Innocence
Bayley's sugary sweet persona may be starting to grate on adult fans, yet there's still something to be said for WWE sticking to their guns and staying true to her character. As the embodiment of innocence, Bayley shouldn't be happy to swing Kendo Sticks at opponents, because she'd be setting a bad example for the little girls who idolise her.
That's why playing up to her childlike purity was smart at Extreme Rules. When she did get a hold of the stick and had the chance to bludgeon Alexa Bliss into a pulp, Bayley hesitated and looked at the weapon like she'd be trading in her values for material possession. That being the Raw Women's Title.
Of course, Bliss is all about being champion, so she had no problem bashing Bayley senseless with the Kendo. Booking an 'On A Pole' match in 2017 may make some laugh as they remember Vince Russo in WCW, but WWE got the story right here.
