9 Things WWE Must Do To Bring Back Causal Wrestling Fans

8. Bring Back The 'Shock Factor'

One of the problems with WWE today is that it is simply too dominant. There just isn€™t sufficient competition out there, and even though shows like Lucha Underground are excellent, they're only appealing to a niche market. It€™s gotten to the point where Raw€™s biggest competitor is NXT. This has led to the same formula being repeated, which has led to causal fans turning off and hardcore fans struggling to get excited every week, even if they do tune in. For a show that€™s been on every week for the last twenty three years, it€™s obviously going to be difficult to present something new and refreshing every time. But the current storyline being used for Roman Reigns is pretty much a carbon copy of Daniel Bryan€™s rise to the top. We've seen it before, and better, too. If WWE can€™t keep wrestling fans entertained, what chance do they have of grabbing the attention to casual ones? The Attitude and the ruthless aggression eras focused on creating shocking moments that would constantly keep viewers on the edge of their seats and coming back for more. Austin driving a beer truck into the arena and Jeff Hardy performing a swanton bomb off the Titantron got those in attendance up on their feet and those watching at home hitting the re-wind button. Surprising the viewers will keep the fans keen to see how the events unfold onto next week show, constantly pulling them back in. Let€™s hope WWE brings in a bit more shock value to their product. Just as long as they don€™t overdo it like WCW did towards their end...
